Supporting Community Action: Keeping Malvern Connected

At AshwellCare, caring has always extended beyond the people we support day to day. We believe strong care services are built within strong communities, and that connection, inclusion and belonging matter at every stage of life.

That belief is why we are proud to support Community Action Malvern, including sponsoring one of their community buses and taking part in local events that bring people together.

Why Community Connection Matters

Loneliness and isolation are real challenges for many people across Malvern and the surrounding areas. For older people in particular, access to transport, social opportunities and community spaces can make a significant difference to wellbeing, confidence and independence.

Community Action Malvern plays a vital role in addressing this by creating opportunities for people to connect, stay active and feel part of their community. Their work aligns closely with our own values and our belief that care should be about more than tasks — it should be about people and relationships.

Supporting the Community Action Bus

We are proud to sponsor one of Community Action Malvern’s buses, which helps local people access activities, appointments and social opportunities they might otherwise miss. Reliable community transport is often the difference between someone staying connected or becoming isolated. By supporting this service, we are helping to remove barriers and enable people to remain active participants in their community.

This reflects one of our core principles at Ashwell — being fair and caring, and recognising that independence looks different for everyone.

Coming Together at Local Events

We also value the importance of showing up, not just supporting from the side lines. Our team was pleased to attend Community Action Malvern’s Festive Christmas Coffee Morning, a warm and welcoming event that brought people together during what can be a difficult time of year for many. Events like this create space for conversation, laughter and connection, and they remind us how powerful small moments of community can be.

We are also proud to support Midsummer Malvern, a celebration that showcases local organisations, creativity and community spirit. These events help strengthen the networks that make Malvern such a special place to live and work.

Aligned with Our Values and Six Pillars

Our support for Community Action Malvern is not separate from our work in care. It is guided by the same six pillars that underpin everything we do — Fair, Openness, Caring, Ambitious, Self Confident and Trusting.

By supporting community transport and local events, we are living these values in a practical way, helping to build confidence, connection and trust beyond the walls of our service.

Looking Ahead

We are committed to continuing our partnership with Community Action Malvern and to playing our part in supporting a connected, inclusive community.

Because when communities are strong, care feels more human, more personal and more sustainable.

We are proud to stand alongside organisations that share this vision and look forward to being involved in future events and initiatives that bring people together across Malvern.
