Live in Care

Live-in care that lets you be family again.

What is

Live-in Care?
There comes a point many families recognise. Not a crisis. Just a growing feeling that things are changing: a missed meal, forgotten medication, a fall, an unanswered phone call. Checking your phone constantly. Spending weekends helping instead of enjoying time together. One concern becomes another, and while the daytime often feels manageable, it's the nights that cause the greatest concern, the worry that follows you long after you've hung up the phone.

Live-in care means a dedicated Care Companion stays with your loved one at home, providing the same continuous, personal support a care home can offer, without ever asking them to leave home. It's for families who need more than a few visits a day, but still want their loved one to stay independent, surrounded by their own belongings, pets and routines.

At AshwellCare, our live-in care is built around three levels of support, so the right amount of care is in place from day one, and can adjust as needs change, because your loved one shouldn't have to choose between home and safety, and neither should you.

Waking Nights
Full Live in Care
Sleep better, knowing someone is there.
Rest easy, knowing they are never alone.
Round-the-clock, without ever leaving home.
For families who need reassurance overnight without full waking supervision. A Care Companion stays overnight in the home, on hand to help if needed, settling your loved one for the night, responding to calls for assistance, and there first thing in the morning. Ideal for those who are largely settled through the night but benefit from knowing someone is close by.
For those who need active support throughout the night. A Care Companion stays awake and alert for the full night, providing hands-on care, regular checks, and support with conditions that need attention after dark, such as dementia, mobility needs, or health conditions that cause disturbed sleep. Ideal for those whose needs don't stop when the sun goes down.
For continuous, day-and-night support. A dedicated Care Companion lives in the home, providing care and companionship around the clock. Often the closest alternative to a care home, while letting your loved one keep their own routines, their own front door, and the independence and dignity that matters to them.

Personalised

Every live-in care package starts with a free, no-obligation conversation, not a form to fill in. We take the time to notice the details that matter: how she likes her day organised, the food she enjoys, the pace she prefers, the routines that make her feel like herself.

From there, we match a consistent, trusted Care Companion (or small team) who gets to know her properly, never a rotating cast of unfamiliar faces. It's this consistency that turns a stranger into someone she looks forward to seeing, and turns your visits back into visits, not checklists.

Familiarity and Wellbeing

Staying at home, surrounded by personal belongings, pets and memories, can make a real difference to emotional wellbeing, particularly for those living with dementia or memory loss. Live-in care allows for that continuity, while still providing the level of support usually associated with a care home. For couples, it also means not having to choose between staying together and getting the help one of them needs.

What

Changes?
Before: worry, stress, loneliness, interrupted sleep.
After: peace of mind, confidence, companionship and real family time, where you get to be a daughter or son again, not a care coordinator.

• Stay in the home they love
• One-to-one attention
• Consistency builds trust
• Couples can stay together
• Pets and routines stay the same
• Care that flexes as needs change
• Peace of mind for families
• Reduces hospital readmissions
• Often more cost-effective

Live-in Care

Is Best For
Live-in care is often best for people with higher or complex care needs, who no longer feel safe living alone, or who would otherwise be considering residential care. It particularly suits those living with dementia, those recovering from a hospital stay, or couples who want to stay together rather than being separated by a care home.

For families who want full confidence that their loved one is never without support, day or night, live-in care is usually the moment they're ready for it, when visits have stopped feeling like visits, and conversations have become checklists.
1. A conversation, not a form
2. We match your Care Companion
3. Care begins at home
A free, no-obligation chat to understand her needs, routines and what matters most to your family.
We introduce a Care Companion chosen for your loved one specifically, and you're involved in that decision before anything is confirmed.
Support starts on the day that works for you, and we stay in touch to check it's genuinely working, adjusting as there needs change.
